The word Gangaur has two parts. ‘Gan’ stands for Lord Shiva and ‘Gaud’ stands for Goddess Parvati. The festival is about the celebration for Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Shilpgram means a crafts village. There are festival organized in this village where there are many crafts displayed. It is three kilometers away from Lake Fateh Sagar. It has beautiful traditional items which display houses from Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Goa. This shows the popularity of the festival.
