IBPS PO Exam Date & Result – Learn More about the Syllabus

The Preliminary IBPS Exam date was scheduled on 3rd, 10th and 11th October 2020. The Mains IBPS Exam date is tentatively scheduled on 4th February 2021. The IBPS PO exam notification was released on 4th August 2020, to fill more than 3500 vacancies.

The IBPS Exam date and IBPS PO result dates are mentioned in the IBPS PO notification. As per the notification the Preliminary IBPS PO result was set to be announced on 14th January 2021 and the Mains IBPS PO Result is set to be announced in February 2021.

The IBPS PO result will be used to fill vacancies in the Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Canara Bank, Central Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, Union Bank of India, UCO Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Punjab & Sind Bank. The eligibility criteria for IBPS exam is that the candidate should be a citizen of India, candidates should have a basic graduation degree such as B.Tech, B.Com, BSc, B.A. etc. from any university recognized by the Central Government. IBPS Exam date is spread over 3 different stages. 

The first stage is the IBPS PO Prelims exam, the next stage is the IBPS PO Mains Exam and the third stage is the interview stage. IBPS PO Preliminary examination is for a duration of 1 hour and 20 minutes. There will be 3 sections for a total of 100 marks. There will be a total of 100 questions. Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability will have 35 questions each. English language section will have 30 marks. The duration of all three sections will be 20 minutes. IBPS PO Mains examination will be conducted online and there will be one descriptive paper. The descriptive paper in the English language (letter writing and essay paper). There will be two questions, maximum marks for this paper is 25. The time allotted for this paper is 30 marks. Apart from Letter writing there is one section on Reasoning and Computer Aptitude for a maximum of 60 marks. There will be 45 questions in this section and the duration of this section is 60 minutes. English language section will have 35 questions, for 40 marks and the duration of this section will be 40 minutes. The Data Analysis & Interpretation Section will also have 35 questions for 60 marks and the duration of this section is 45 minutes. The General Economy and Banking Awareness section is for 35 minutes duration, it is for a maximum of 40 marks and will have 40 questions.  The total duration of IBPS PO Mains examination is 3 hours and 30 minutes.

The syllabus for Reasoning section of IBPS PO exam is alphanumeric series, data sufficiency, coded inequalities, puzzle, seating arrangement, tabulation, syllogism, coding-decoding, input-output, blood relations, ranking test, direction, logical reasoning. The syllabus for quantitative aptitude section of IBPS PO exam is profit and loss, Mixtures & Alligations, Simplification, Time & Distance, Simple Interest & Compound Interest, Mensuration – Cylinder, Cone, Sphere, Number Systems, Time & Distance, Work & Time, Sequence & Series, Data Interpretation, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion, Probability, Permutation & Combination. The pattern for the English language section is to fill in the blanks, paragraph completion, cloze test, reading comprehension, para jumbles, error spotting. 

The candidates should be able to read, write and speak in the official language of the state. The candidates should have a working knowledge of computer systems.
