KLM provides the chance to select your seats in advance, which is a great feature for customizing your in-flight experience. Seating Options on KLM Flights
KLM offers three major seating options when flying with them:

Seat Selection Fees
Most cheap economy flights, such as Economy Light, only allow you free choice during airport check-in. Pre-selecting standard economy seats cost between $15 and USD 25 per flight segment when booking other economy prices such as Economy Standard.
Upgrading to Economy Comfort seats costs between $50 and $150 for every segment, depending on the journey lengths. Business class seats have the highest costs, ranging from $150 to over $600 each way. International routes incur additional taxes.
Higher-tier Flying Blue Elite members are entitled to a specific number of free seat selections each year in Economy and Economy Comfort. Using a KLM credit card can also result in complimentary seats.
KLM Seat Selection Process
Seats can be preselected in several ways:
- During online booking, select tickets from the available inventory after inputting flight information. Additional costs apply.
- Log into “Manage My Booking” online to select seats for a cost after booking, or contact.+1 844-987-7026 .
- At Online Check-In, free and paid tickets can be picked if available 24 hours before departure.
- At the airport check-in counter, if seats have not been reserved in advance, you will be assigned one.
- At the Gate – Remaining seats may be available at the gate based on request or frequent flyer status.
Seats are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Booking or checking in early boosts your chances of securing preferable seats together. KLM will try to seat families together, but it is not guaranteed without pre-selection.
Connecting Flight Seat Assignments
Seats for connecting KLM flights must be reserved separately for each travel leg. Furthermore, there is no opportunity to book all connection seats at once. This is because each flight has its own availability and possible aircraft modifications.
If you book connecting tickets in advance, make sure you have enough time to deplane, transit between gates, and re-board at the hub airport. Some airports, such as Amsterdam Schiphol, are exceptionally enormous.
Changing or cancelling pre-selected KLM seats
You can modify your reserved seat by clicking “Manage My Booking” on KLM’s website or calling +1 844-987-7026 for an extra cost before the online check-in closes (typically 24 hours before departure). Name alterations are also authorized for a flat cost per passenger.
If you need to cancel your KLM flight after picking seats, you will not receive a return for your booked seat fees. The fees are nonrefundable unless KLM cancels the flight. Any rebooking will necessitate fresh seat bookings.
